Grief and Loss

2342531523Grief can create overwhelming emotions.

In the wake of a death due to cancer, a person struggles with intense grief.

Those struggles can affect you emotionally and physically. Some will experience feelings of regret and guilt as they ruminate about the circumstances of the death. Others might feel frustrated or angry about the new burdens and responsibilities associated with that loss.

Insomnia, depression, and anxiety can occur as part of the grieving process, causing nervousness and other physical ailments.

Dealing with grief can be a challenge, making it difficult to adjust and accept the new reality that the sorrow of loss brings. Everyone grieves differently and for different periods. Grieving over loss is a personal experience, but therapy can help with the grieving process.

Let us help make your emotions less overwhelming.

Using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), we offer specific training in Grief Counseling to help you develop strategies to improve focus and concentration during the grieving process. We aim to help clients reduce those intense feelings, move through areas where they are “stuck,” and find peace and acceptance.

Through our work together, clients will be better able to care for themselves on a newly clear and adjusted life path while simultaneously holding on to their loved one’s memories.

We also offer a bereavement tele-group for those who would like more structure and to become part of a community experiencing the same grief and loss. See details below.
